Mentoring Opportunity: Life Coaches need for young adults ages 17-21
There is a current need of positive mentors for many young adults aging out of the foster care system. Because of their lack of skills and education a lot of these young people are negatively impacted by this transition. Statistics show that 60% - 90% of these young men and women will end up homeless, in jail or back in the negative situation they came out of unless they have a solid support system in place!
Louisville Orphan Care Alliance desires to provide each of these young adults with a Life Coach to come along side them and coach them, similarly to how we coach our own children toward adulthood! Most of these young people have been in the care provided by the state for many years and have had much done for them so we desire to teach them how to fend for themselves as we model the love and teaching of Christ in our life! The commitment is for one year. The preferred life coach would meet with his/her protegé once a week and just "do life" together. The impact occurs as the protegé sees you living out your life and begins to ask questions! Jesus was full of grace and truth and our desire is to be the same!
